So after the day I had today, I wanted to play something upbeat, but not too crazy. Then I remembered that my roommates Dad gave us some records and here I am, spinning Chuck Berry's The London Chuck Berry Sessions. I would have to say that My Ding-A-Ling is the funniest song on this record. You have to think about when this record came out and what context it would hold today. Not a very appropriate song for today, considering Chuck Berry talks about how great sex is and how you handle it. But not only that, he has the crowd participate and makes very wild references on how the ladies are participating. It's definitely worth a listen, that's for sure. Another track that has been very popular since the 80's is Johnny B. Goode, since that song was in the movie Back to the Future. When listening to that song and the other songs on this record, you will find out how much of an amazing guitar player Chuck Berry is. Definitely good for that time, but even better when you listen to how intense his playing is.
Enjoy!
