Unavoidable

IMPORTANT:  This Nation of Ulysses record was made on a four-track 1/2" tape machine in September of 1992 at their Embassy in Washington, D.C..  Due to the limitations of the technology and the volume of the music there is a certain amount of tape noise which was unavoidable.

Sitting....Waiting

One Hundred Forty-Eighth

Artist - Fugazi
Album - 7 Songs/EP
Released - 1988
Label - Dischord
Genre - Post-Hardcore

Tracks:
Waiting Room
Bulldog Front
Bad Mouth
Burning
Give Me The Cure
Suggestion
Glue Man

Such an amazing record, a great find and I'm happy that I decided to look in the punk section of the record store.  I almost feel like this album was CALLING ME or maybe it caught my eye when I was looking for Husker Du. The debut record by Fugazi is so awesome it has two names.  Well you can either call it the EP, which it obviously is or some call it 7 songs.  Maybe because there are only seven songs on the album.  Regardless of whatever they call it, it's a great record and I think this album is a cult classic so to speak.  Waiting Room is on of my favorites, which I'm sure its a lot of peoples favorite, but another song I also like on this record is Suggestion.  I do adore music old and new, but this one is a MUST HAVE!!

Enjoy!

After the Calm

In the aftermath of the milestone from yesterday, I decided to go with something more low-key, yet a bit hardcore.  For my one hundred and first pick.

Artist - Unwound
Album - Leaves Turn Inside You
Released - 2001
Label - Kill Rock Stars
Genre - Post-Hardcore

Tracks:
We Invent You
Look a Ghost
December
Treachery
Terminus
Demons Sing Love Songs
Off This Century
One Licks Less
Scarlette
October All Over
Summer Freeze
Radio Gra
Below the Salt
Who Cares

It's not that I'm being lazy about writing about this band, I'm a little exhausted.  I had quite a crazy day and it zapped my thought process.  So that being said, I will let you judge this album for yourself.  It's a pretty good album, but obviously, nothing like their earlier stuff.

Enjoy!
