One of My TOPS

Two Hundred Fifty-Four

Artist - Hot Chip
Album - In Our Heads
Released - 2012
Label - Domino
Genre - Indietronica/Synth-Pop

Tracks:
Motion Sickness
How Do You Do?
Don't Deny Your Heart
Look At Where We Are
These Chains
Night & Day
Flutes
Now There Is Nothing
Ends of the Earth
Let Me Be Him
Always Been Your Love

What A Great record!!  This one will definitely be listed as one of my top 12 albums (of the year review) once I complete my year long expedition of this blog, which will sadly end in April.  Well I can't say it will end indefinitely, but I probably won't post as much.  I guess I can keep it up as long and as much as I want to.  I do have to say this, keeping up with this blog has been quite a commitment challenge, especially since I've traveled a lot but have still managed to keep up and catch up.  Now, as I sit here and think how April is in four (4) months, I'm getting a little sad.  I must think of a new goal with this blog and my records.  For now, Hot Chip -- this is their fifth album and it is a frickin' fantastic record!!

Enjoy!

One Hundred Fifty-Fifth

Artist - The Human League
Album - Fascination! (EP)
Released - 1981
Label - Virgin Records
Genre - Electronic Pop/Synth Pop/Electro Pop

Tracks:
Side One
(Keep Feeling) Fascination - Extended
Mirror Man
Hard Times
Side Two
I Love You Too Much
You Remind Me of Gold
(Keep Feeling) Fascination - Improvisation

So it wasn't too long ago where I had (Keep Feeling) Fascination in my head.  I guess it's because every time I go to the record store, I see the album.  Luckily, the EP was in my collection so here it is.  I would've posted it it yesterday as a double post, but I had no energy to even think with the sinus issues I have been having.

Enjoy!

Production, Seduction

I'm taking this back a few years to when I first heard this song, thanks to a great friend who dumped all his music on me before he left to the UK.  For my one hundred twenty-sixth pick.

Artist - Hot Chip
Album - One Life Stand
Released - 2010
Label - Parlophone
Genre - Electropop, Synthpop, Indietronica

Tracks:
Thieves in the Night
Hand Me Down Your Love
I Feel Better
One Life Stand
Brothers
Slush
Alley Cats
We Have Love
Keep Quiet
Take It In

What I would do to see Hot Chip LIVE!!  I absolutely fell in love with this band years ago, probably midway through their life span as a band, but I have to say that this album, next to their newly released album, is the BEES KNEES.  One Life Stand is their fourth album and I remember listening to this album when the sound first cruised through my ears.  I don't know if it's Alexis Taylor's voice or a combination of his voice with the music, but it is just amazing.  Listening to this record in its entirety makes me realize how great this record is and how much I love this band.  Thieves in the Night is such a great song to start off with too because the tempo, sound and voice make it so.  One of my favorites, of course, is One Life Stand.  I make sure that I try to at least put it on every mix cd I made because it's the perfect song.

Enjoy!
