Back to Back, Part II

Double duty is always fun, especially on days where I just feel like listening to records.  That day is TODAY and this is my sixty-second pick.

Artist - The Kinks
Album - Kinks Greatest Hits
Released - 1966
Label - Reprise
Genre - Rock

Tracks:
Side One
A Well Respected Man
Where Have All The Good Times Gone
Till The End of The Day
Set Me Free
Tired of Waiting for You
Side Two
All Day and All of the Night
I Gotta Move
Lola
Wait Till the Summer Comes Along
You Really Got Me

This is the first compilation album released in the US by The Kinks, who are a British rock group.  Do you think it's fair to name your favorite songs on a Greatest Hits album since the whole meaning of a Greatest Hits album is to list ALL THE HITS?  Well I definitely love A Well Respected Man, Tired of Waiting For You, All Day and All of the Night and Lola.  Great songs by a great group of guys and not to just mention this Greatest Hits album, their other records are pretty outstanding, to say the least.  A group that started in 1964, they were categorized in the whole British Invasion genre along with the other greats, like The Beatles and the other notable British rock/pop groups.  It amazes me how today, most of these songs are in movies, such as Well Respected Man which is featured in Juno.  I do appreciate great music composers that are in charge of putting music in movies to not just stay with that is out today, but to dig deep for a good song from back when I wasn't even alive.

Enjoy!
